“hubris.” is a Swiss post-rock band originating from Fribourg. Formed in 2014, the instrumental band is characterised by their original style which blends an experimental touch of post-rock, electronica atmosphere and some elements of the progressive and metal scene. They draw their inspiration from artists like Woodkid, Jon Hopkins or The Contortionist amongst others. With their style evoking introspection, hubris. characterise themselves with the length of their compositions, allowing a range of evolving emotions through softness and power. Sometimes compared with other artists like Sigur Rós or Long Distance Calling, the band calls forth emotions of its audience due to a heterogeneous musical landscape mixing poetic ambiance and raw energy.
They have gained relative popularity following the release of their second album "Apocryphal Gravity", after they took a drastic change in their musical approach and method of composing. The band sets forth a musical style rarely explored to this day, breaching pre-established post-rock conventions by incorporating both electronica and progressive rock/metal influences.

Post-Rock als Basis, doch weitaus mehr in der Umsetzung. A River Crossing verstehen es, Genre-Grenzen zu verbinden. Stoisch, auftürmend, episch. A River Crossing sind Gefühle, sind ein Anker, sind Tristesse, aber auch Hoffnung. A River Crossing sind nicht Fassade und legen gerne mal den Finger in die Wunde. Facettenreiche Arrangements kombiniert mit eingängigen Melodien, warme Klangteppiche mit kühler Direktheit, Post-Rock mit Indie und Shoegaze. Denn Muster sind da, um gebrochen zu werden – genauso wie Songstrukturen. Die Musik der Schweizer Band darf sich Zeit lassen und sich winden, bevor sie in die eine oder andere Richtung abbiegt. Jeder Song erzählt seine eigene Geschichte, die einmal im grossen Finale endet und einmal kontemplativ ausflackert.
